Romania ranks 17th in the European Union in the number of ATMs per 100,000 adults and 12th when it comes to the number of bank branches per 100,000 adults.
Compared to 2010, an average of 40% of commercial bank branches in the European Union closed in 2020 and 7% of ATMs were shut down.
